Germany's No. 1 in engineering is now represented with its own technical office in India. The development of the structures on site was supported by the management consultancy Dr. Dr., who specializes in India. Wamser + Batra GmbH.
By opening a location in Bangalore, the center of the Indian aerospace industry, the FERCHAU AVIATION division is responding to the offset obligations that are becoming increasingly important in the industry. Behind this is the demand from foreign governments and clients to companies like EADS to relocate adequate scope of work (local content) to these countries when selling military and/or civil aircraft. “EADS and Co. expect a first-tier supplier like us to take this step and support them in meeting their offset obligations,” explains Harald Felten, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FERCHAU AVIATION. The move to India is therefore also evidence of the high flexibility of Germany's market leader for engineering services: "When an internationally oriented customer, regardless of the technical industry, demands local content from us in Asia and can guarantee a certain business volume We're basically there."
